The Umpqua Strong 9k & 5k Run/Walk is an outlet for all those affected by the tragic events of October 1st, 2015 to display DETERMINATION, UNITY, and HOPE through a positive community experience. The event is a tribute to life and an opportunity to honor and encourage the people of the Umpqua Valley.
Being a part of Umpqua Strong is more than just serving a cause, it’s extending a community.
Rain or shine, on Saturday, September 30th, 2017 runners and volunteers will come from all around our region to run a scenic 9k race, participate in a 5k walk, and enjoy a kids race followed by awards. We also have an exciting program for Virtual Runners around the world to support UMPQUA STRONG and make their presence felt. It will be an inspiring, energetic event joined by generations and supported by local establishments.
That’s OK. This is an entry-level fun run. Heck, if you don’t like running at all, there’s the 5K walk option for people like you. Just come be a part of this community event.
Registration is now open. You can register by clicking here. Just follow that link and you’re off to the races!
A Remote Runner is anyone who registers to run 9K where they are. Each Remote Runner will receive a race packet with an official Umpqua Strong T-shirt and other goodies! We realize many of those connected to the Umpqua Valley won’t be able to travel and join us in person. This is an excellent way to connect with this important cause and also to fundraise by asking your friends to register and run with you. After you register as an official remote runner, don’t forget to post pictures on social media at #umpquastrong and #remoterunner.

The race will begin and end at Stewart Park, in Roseburg, OR. Race starts at 10AM.

For all of our participants this year, You can pick up your packets and shirts on September 29th, (a Friday) at 9am-6pm, or September 30th, Saturday (the day of the event) starting at 8am at Stewart Park. We thank you so much for joining us this year and can’t wait to see you this Saturday!!
Moving forward, UMPQUA STRONG’s mission is to serve as an outlet and opportunity to display DETERMINATION, UNITY and HOPE. We wish to inspire and motivate the people of the Umpqua Valley and beyond to step past adversity and impact the darkness with their light.
